This page describes the privacy practices of the SEO & AI Visibility Checker browser extension (“the extension”), published by Modern Chameleon Digital. It applies only to the extension — for our website’s privacy practices, see our main Privacy Policy at modernchameleon.com/privacy.
The extension does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data, browsing history, or page content to Modern Chameleon Digital or any third party. All analysis happens locally in your browser.
When you open the extension’s popup on a webpage, or click “Refresh,” it reads that page’s content (page title, meta tags, headings, images, links, structured data, and visible text) to calculate an SEO score and an AI Visibility score, and to generate a checklist of recommendations. This happens entirely within your browser. None of this data is sent to Modern Chameleon Digital’s servers or any analytics service — we don’t operate a
server that receives it at all.
The extension only reads the currently active tab, and only when you explicitly open the popup or click Refresh — it does not run in the background or monitor your browsing.
If you click “Generate Full Report,” a PDF is created directly on your device using the data already visible in the popup, and downloaded straight to your computer. This file is never uploaded or transmitted anywhere.
The extension makes one limited external request: to display a website’s icon in the popup header, it may request a favicon from Google’s public
favicon service (google.com/s2/favicons), sending only the domain name of the page you’re viewing. This is used purely to fetch an icon and happens only when a site doesn’t provide its own directly-loadable favicon. No page content, browsing history, or personal data is included in this request.
Aside from this, the extension makes no other network requests and uses no analytics, tracking, or advertising services.
• activeTab — lets the extension read the current page’s content only when you open the popup or click Refresh.
• scripting — required to run the on-page analysis script that extracts SEO/AI-readiness signals from the active tab.
DATA WE DO NOT COLLECT
We do not collect your browsing history, personal information, account
credentials, page content, or any identifiers. We do not use cookies. We do not sell or share data, because we don’t collect any to begin with.
CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
The extension is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
If our data practices change, we’ll update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above.
